That's how summer goes, I guess.  I start out with the best of intentions for work and study, for forward movement and progress and that sort of thing...

But then, summer happens.  Heat and light and work, not work on my writing or my course offerings, but work on life.  I've been working at Heartfelt and at The Landing.  I've been working on an agreement to do some big work at a multi-national company that could help change the course of how we embrace the youngest and eldest in our communities.  I've been working, but not on what I thought I'd be working on this summer.

And there's that light, the liquid golden stuff of evenings...

So tonight, we're going to the Zoo, to play on an amazing playground, to visit with seals and snow monkeys, and to hear our favorite canoeing fellows sing and play under the stars, in the heat.  We made a cake, and we'll picnic with dear friends.  One of us is far away, having her own adventures with her dear friends, so it's just the two of us. 

Because that's how we do summer.
